Kerstversiering / Holiday lights

Mijn tweede haak-project: kerstversiering.

Patroon: Holiday Lights - The Dapper Toad
Garen: Katoen
Haaknaald: 3,5mm & 5mm

My second crochet-project: Crochet holiday lights. I thought about putting a real holiday light inside them, but discarded the idea due to safety issues and filled them with fiberfill.
The pattern is not difficult and suitable for beginners (although the beginning can be a little troublesome). A free download can be found on Craftsy and www.dappertoad.com. I learned how to do a magic ring and that there are alternatives for the foundation chain, that work even better. Yeah for Youtube!

For both the lights as the cord I used cotton thread, and hooks 3,5 and 5, depending on the weight of the cotton.

Yarn: Cotton
Hook: 3,5mm & 5mm

Swing pants

Finally finished! I had the intention to have them finished before the end of the Lindy Hop season, and they nearly were, except for the hems. For some reason it took about half a year before I had the courage to finally finish the pants - they had to be shortened quite a lot.
And I have to say I felt very, very proud when wearing them. Especially because I paired them with homemade suspenders.
Now I 'only' have to make the knit shirt I intend to wear with it (already bought the fabric, in a color matching the elastic of the suspenders) and the outfit is complete.

Edit (2016): the shirt is also done...see here.
