Borduren met kinderen / cross-stitch with children

Tijdens het knusteluurtje op de lokale basisschool zou er geborduurd gaan worden. Als idee heb ik een voorbeeld gemaakt op een grof aida, zodat er een alternatief zou zijn voor het geperforeerde karton dat meestal gebruikt wordt. Zeker de kinderen uit de bovenbouw zouden met dit materiaal moeten kunnen werken. 

Uiteindelijk is er voor iets totaal anders gekozen, dat overigens een groot succes was, dus de kinderen hebben mijn lapje niet als inspiratiebron gebruikt. 

 This was little sampler I made on a low count aida. The idea was to use it as a source of inspiration during a crafts-class at our local primary school. In the end we decided to go for something else, but still stitching related, so the children haven't used it as an example.

Alpine Stitch Blanket

Verjaardagscadeautje voor J. Erg leuk om te maken. Het kostte alleen wat meer tijd dan verwacht. De afmetingen zonder rand zijn ~100x150, met rand ~110x162. De basis bestaat uit 210 foundation single crochet (FSC), om geen lossen te hoeven haken. 

De rand is dubbel gehaakt: eerst rondom een slip stitch om zowel aan de voor- als aan de achterkant te kunnen haken. Daarna eerst een deel van de achterrand gehaakt, gevolgd door de voorrand. Beide afwisselend HDC en DC. Voor de zijkant: 2 sl.st. per HDC-SC combinatie. Dit leverde 346 steken op. 

Uiteindelijk iets meer dan 5 bollen Katia Neon en 5,5 bol Katia Panama, resulterend in bijna 5km garen.

It's finally done! After almost 2 years I have completed a fully lined Sundance Jacket with large(r) pockets. 

Although I love the first Sundance Jacket I made, it is a little tight in some places (mainly the waist and the upper sleeves). As lining adds bulk, I decided to go one size up for the bust and hips, and two for the waist (compared to the first one that is a straight size S).
